Blown speaker?

How do I tell if a speaker is blown? I've been over powering my speakers for a while. The speakers are rated 100RMS and 300W peak. I have them hooked up to an amp that outputs 160W RMS to the speakers, not certain about peak.

There's been ssome strange noises coming from one of my woofers like something is rattling, but only at certain frequencies.

Switch the woofers and see if anything changes. If nothing changes then it's the amp.

Probably the speakers though. Time to upgrade!

I haven't managed to take the door apart yet, but it sounds like it might be the crossover rattling against something. I just taped the thing inside the door panel. I guess the tape is loosing it's stickyness or something.

You heard of CDT compoents?
