Installed my DRZ, QAA, Seas Reference and Peerless Exclusives

The DRZ9255 is actively crossing over the frequencies sent to the 4 channels of the MB Quart QAA4250.

The front two channels are powering the Seas Lotus Reference Aluminum Tweeters. The rears are powering Peerless Exclusive 7" Midwoofers.

It is incredible. I'm just speechless to say the least. There is so much power and clarity it is insane. The MB Quart QAA is rated for 250 watts rms x 4 @ 4 ohms. The gains and built in crossovers on the amp are all bypassed. The DRZ handles all gain control, bandpass crossovers, Parametric EQ and Time alignment. I am very impressed with this setup. The left imaging is out past the drivers side mirror. The staging is at or 4 inches above dash level. Stage depth isn't that great. After mounting the tweeters in A Pillar pods it should bring the depth out onto the hood.

I need to get a dashmat and start deadening/soundproofing the rest of the truck.

The sad part is I already pulled out the MB Quart amp.

The good news is, I'm trading it for a Phoenix Gold ZX950 6 channel

Specs on the PG amp here.
http://www.phoenixgold.com/webfaq/ZX.htm

It's basically a ZX450 and a ZX500 in one chassis. I've read that there are less than 20 of these ever made made in black.

nice....you're all into the undercover brands of speakers. I like that...having great equipment that the regular person has never heard of. How do those speakers (the kine you find from madisound.com) compare to speakers like Rainbow, Morel, Focal, RobertSound, Morel, etc? The Scan Speak speakers look like the Alpine F-1 Status speakers, which are the best speakers that I have ever heard (even though the cone is treated paper).

My head unit has a graphic and parametric eq. What is the difference? Which is better? the graphic has 11 pre-set bands, and the parametric eq has 10 adjustable frequency bands. I never quite understood whats the deal with parametric eq's and how some good decks/processors have only a one-band parametric eq.

Wow! I'm in love of way the Clarions looks in your dash. Ahhh!! Is that the Tacotunes dash kit? I was thinking of getting that, instead of the black looking one, on ebay i bought.

You got the same tweeters as me, but not the mids, almost the same amp i have (mb ra2400), my doors are not sound deaden yet. Must sound sweet!!!

Good luck with your install!!

Seas makes some of the best speakers out there. I would say that the Seas Excel, Lotus and Excel-Nextels easily compare to the likes of high end Rainbow, Morel, Dynaudio, Scan Speak and Focal. Focal has the Utopia BE series which is pretty out there. They have a 3" midreange that is suppose to own all other smaller midranges.

I like my Peerless Exclusive's alot. Hopefully I can compare them to the Seas Excel-Nextel 7" mids.

A Parametric EQ can have more control over the eq settings. The graphic EQ is easier to use. With the Parametric EQ you can set your eq levels and then adjust the "Q" of each setting. As with the Graphic EQ I'm pretty sure you can only adjust the level. I don't really use too much eq yet.
