Unhappy rear passenger speaker doesn't work

i dont know of any other forums to put this so here goes. like the topic says rear passenger speaker doesn't work. i plugged a new speaker to it and it still doesn't work. what do i have to do to get it to work? and how? i got a 98 avalon and the dash removal looks difficult.

and are alpine subs/amps any good?

You could try getting a speaker wire and connecting it straight to the channel of the external amplifier. If it works then, you will know you have a short in the wire somewhere between the amplifier and the speaker.

If it proves to not be a short than you probably have a bad channel in your amplifier.

If you are going to go aftermarket, I would suggest not worrying about the rear speakers, in fact, disconnect them both and replace your front speakers instead.

Alpine amps are good. THe subs are a decent value as well. The Alpine Type-X sub is really good. There is better stuff to look at IMO.
