two amp setup

Hi I was wondering if this is the correct way to set up two amps. Also, is 8 gauge enough for 350 rms on the sub amp? Please let me know if there is anything wrong with the diagram. Thank you.

use 4g all around

don't forget the RCA cables

and if you can, try to ground both amps on the same grounding point.

the fuse from the dis block to the amp really isn't necessary

4 gauge to dual 8 gauge is perfect for your setup. Get a distribution block with built in fuse holders.

Everything looks good to me.

Do try to ground your amps in the same spot if possible, but if you don't have any noise problem with different grounding points it shouldn't matter too much.

my profile amp for the sub says that 4 gauge is the right size. it puts out 350 rms. Could 8 gauge be used?

Yeah 8 gauge is enough for 350 watts rms.

Overkill with 4 gauge now. Easier to run one the 4 gauge now, instead of installing the 8 gauge, removing it, and running the 4 gauge. Waste of money to buy the 8 gauge, and then having to buy 4 gauge later.

When I installed a Soundstream Reference 300 in my trunk, I ran 4 gauge, since the amp could accept 4 gauge wire, and to cover future upgrades.

T'd off the 4 gauge via a Stinger T block, is a Punch 60. Soundstream was replaced with a Kicker DX350. 647 watts total with no problems.

edit: i think i did it to shorten the grounds as much as possible

Not all amps have built on fuses.

My 2 amps don't, so I have to fuse them externally. A power distribution fuse block works nicely for this.

can I do a one 4 gauge in and two 4 gauge out and not use inline fuse? i think one 4 in and two 4 out would be easier. how would that setup work? thanx
