Dynamat

I am thinking of putting in some dynamat into my base model

(I am keeping it until I can afford a 4 door...... i.e. FOREVER ;-)

So since it's going to be around for a while, it's time to make some of those upgrades I have been putting off.

I want to quiet down the ride, enhance the sound of the speakers a bit and fill out the "boxy" doors a bit. (They almost "pop" when I shut them with a window down)

Any tips in dynamat installation?

Do I peel off all that plastic wrap inside the door? How thick do I put it (seveal layers)? What kind of dynamat? Should I do it under the carpet? Firewall? How about the wall behind the seat by the sub?

Any tips would be great!

Search the Audio Video forum. Lots of info and pics there.

I vote for the Raammat.

I have just started some dynamat/raammat installations. Let me just tell you now, this stuff takes forever to put on. Its really simple. Just look around some forums and be sure to check this site- www.sounddeadenershowdown.com . Make sure you clean the surface before sticking the sound deadener on. DONT use asphalt based deadeneers because tehy tend to melt under low heat and leave you with puddles of asphalt in your door. Raammat is highly recommended. Be sure to get teh Ensolite if you want to block outside noise. Its a closed cell foam which is good stufff =). If you have a 2 door, 1 roll of raammat is good (dynamat is VERY expensive because of the brand name) and 2 yds of ensolite should be more than enough for 1 layer around your car. www.raammat.com . Dynamat extremem works very well but cost alot.
