New Eclipse AVN6600

Glad I didn't buy the AVN5495. This 6600 is bad ass. And it's satellite ready, unlike the 5495.

Check out the Dual Play zones.

Well, I took the dive. I bought a new AVN6600 on Ebay for $1600. I was thinking about doing a carputer, but I took the easy way out.

I'll post pics once it's in.

"TV Tuner ready" does it mean it will work with satellite receiver and watch tv programs?

Pb, is your truck all fixed up now? Haven't seen any new pic.

I'm not sure about how tv and satellite will hook up to it. I'll figure it out when it gets here.

My truck should be back from the body shop tomorrow.

Obviously, my choice would be the Eclipse. Pioneers are nice, but the newer ones will not let a DVD play while the vehicle is moving. It has a gyroscope inside that is hard to modify. With the Eclipse all you have to do is ground the parking brake wire, and you can play a DVD any time.

One really cool thing is that the stock Toyota radio wiring harness plugs right into the back of Eclipse units. This is because the company that makes the stock radios (Fujitsu-Ten) also makes Eclipse radios. Everything just plugs right in. No harnesses to wire together. Plus steering wheel controls also plug right in. The only cutting I will have to do is to splice into the remote turn-on wire, for my amps.

PB im torn between the Eclipse 5500 and the Eclipse 6600

I know the 6600 allows you to use the navi and play dvds at the same time if you have additional screens. (but im not going to add any screens on the back of my headrests or nething)

I have a MP3 player (it plugs in like headphones not like an ipod) and i want a direct connection to the system (im tired of buying those stupid radio tansmitters) on the elcipse site it didnt say that the 5500 was ipod ready like the 6600. Would i still be able to hook my MP3 player to the 5500??? Will the 5500 be the best choice for me????

Thanx!
