Recomendations needed (05 Taco)

OK, I saw Cam's "A list" but it's a bit long. Here is what I need.

A head unit that will provide the following.

Good basic sound with a decent EQ.

At least one pre amp out

Aux input for my ipod (front or back, although front would be nice)

I am looking for something that is not flashy and that will not attract a lot of attention, as I don't have, nor do I plan to intall a alarm (not that they help anyway).

A guy at best buy was trying to sell me a Sony, but I have my doubts. I used to have a JVC and it lasted FOREVER. I hear Alpine is good, and now I see Clarion and Priemer and a bunch of other brands that I never knew about (shows how long my JVC lasted ;-)

How are these speakers from Crutchfield?

Budget is the word. Looking for that good "value" between $$$ and quality..... (who isn't?)

OH, I will also have a sub behind the seat, but I already have that. Just take that into consideration when you recomend speakers for the doors....

Thanks all!

In order to help you, please give a range of price that you're willing to spend on each item or the total that you want to spend.

For the speakers, check out:
