Free Air/Infinite Baffle 6 1/2" Subwoofer

Are JL Audio 6W0 subs capable of a free air installation? If not, can someone recommend a driver with a mounting depth of 4.1" or less? I'm looking for a pair of IB subs to replace the 6.5's in the back of my tacoma.

Is there enough clearance between the cone and the inside of the rear door panel for the EU-700 at maximum excursion? A guy at Crutchfield told me that the mounting depth was 4.135" and the height was .36". Is that the distance between the metal where the speaker is mounted and the door panel?

The 6W0 is not an infinite baffle subwoofer. It's purpose-built for frequencies below 100Hz.
The first and 3rd links and midbass drivers and the 2 nd link I got tired of waiting for it to load. The first claimed that it could be used as a subwoofer as well....

Alot of guys have put the eD EU-700's in the rear doors and have had good results.

I guess the second link isn't working but it's for a 6.5" subwoofer from Tangband.

The Adire Extremis has a flat response down to 30hz and will work good in this situation as well.

Let me know how those elemental designs sound. I am thinking of putting a pair of those in my car and using them for my midbass. They are only 50 bucks each, which are less than half the price of the JL 6WO
