Bazooka? Are they THAT bad?

So in my single cab, I have VERY few options for subs behind the seats. Add to which the fact that I have very long legs and you get the picture.

In my old truck (and this one for now) I have a 6" bazooka tube behind the seat. I liked it in my last truck, but at 12+ years old it's time to go. I need to replace it and I was thinking of either the

6" 100w powered tube

or

6" 200w (double coil) powered tube

Anybody have any experience with these models?

I now have an alpine MRP-T240 (four channel) that is putting 45W to the fronts and bridged 100W to the tube.

I was thinking of bridging 100W x2 bridged to the fronts (the speakers I like are rated for 50W?) and putting a powered tube in.

Would 200W be overkill for the tube?

So on, and so on.....

say 'no' to tubes

i used to have a 10" powered Bazooka in my old camry. the amp put out 100W. i didn't like the sound. the bass range of a tube is narrow. it hit kinda hard at certain bass notes, but it totally sucked at lower notes. i say get a trcuk-style wedge box and put a quality 10" woofer in there and feed it 200W or more. it will sound way better than any tube.

something like this will do u good...

I hear the Elemental Design EU-700 are decent. They need a 0.25 cu ft enclosure and two of them should be sufficient. However, you'll probably need about 100W RMS to each one for decent sound.
