Just want to add a amp!

I want to add a amp for a little bit of extra quality to my 06 Tacoma DBL cab.
  • Stock head unit
  • Six CD changer
  • Steering wheel controls
  • Stock six speakers
Went to the local stereo store today, they tried to sale me a JL audio clean sweep with amp for $1000.00 WTF! I only want to sped about five to six hundred dollars or less. Any suggestions on a amp and LOC would be very helpful.

Thanks, Herbs

For 5 to 600 dollars you can replace your front speakers too.

Adding an amp to the stock speakers will kill the speakers very shortly.

I'd rec. a 4 channel amp and a set of 6.5" components for the front doors.

The LOC's from www.davidnavone.com are of good quality. Which one to pick will depend on what kind of setup you want to do.

Front speakers only-NE-777
Front and rear speakers only NE-774V
Front speakers and a sub(s)-N-7785V

For an amp, I'm guessing you want to put it under the drivers seat?

I'd go with a 4 channel. This way you have a couple of different options that you can set it up with. You can use the front channels on the front components, and bridge the rear channels to power a sub. Or you can use all 4 channels to power front and rear speakers. Or you can bridge the amp into a 2 channel amp to power the front speakers only with plenty of power.

Here's a nice amp to power some front components and a sub.

I might be able to get it a little cheaper.

For some front speakers, if you don't mind buying off ebay, check out the JL XR and the Alpine Type-X components.
