Question Question About Amps...Solution And Thoughts Please

Whats Going On All?

I have a 1996 Toyota Camry with two 12" Inifinty References pwerwed by one 600 Watt MA Audio amp...but for all those who love bass like me I have a question...i am looking to add more to those tow 12" Inifintys like two more 12" Infinitys and three 10" Infinitys but I have no idea what amp/s i would need to get the maximum wattage out of those subs...but my question is what subs would you add on to my already two 12"s and amp/s to power them all to max. wattage? If you like the idea of the three 10"s and two 12"s what amp/s do you suggest I get?

Thank You All For Your Time...

why in the world would you want 5 subs, expecially 10's and 12's mixed?

those infiniti's max out around 3-400watt rms, so youve got that covered with the amp you have now. if you want more bass, go invest in better subs and a stronger amp, not more of the same stuff you have.

Dont mix sub sizes. If you wan't more subs, get more of the same exact sub you have.

What amp to suggest will depend on how many subs you actually plan on using and what ohm load they are.

Your 12" Infinties are not 1000 watts... maybe all 6 together.. geez.. and you have to give us an ohm so we know what ohm rating your amp must have. I calculated it and you will need somewhere around 1500-1800 acctual watts to power all of them if you acctually get 6 that is. Which is alot in terms of subs. You are gonna need a fairly big expensive amp to power these things at there reccommended rms power. So just keep that in mind for your cost, You have to buy 4 more and a amp that is most likely going to be pretty expensive by the looks of it. The more benifical thing to do would be to ditch the ones you have and rebuild to something better.

Like everyone said, don't mix subs. Stay with 1 model...Either get more of the ones you already have or ditch those and get other ones...I say sell your other ones and get 4 infinity perfects if you want those.
Here'a a pic of 4 older model Infinity Perfects in a gen 3 which is definitly enough...

Look, peak power is just a gimmic to drag in dumb buyers, companies that put max watts in the carton should be shot. rms is the real number to look for. It is better to have an amp of higher wattage than the speakers to prevent clipping, which could damage the speaker

Question Decision Made But Another Question? Answer And Thoughts Please

Thank You All For Your Help I Have Decided To Go With:

  • Four 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 12 VQ's
  • Each Are Recommended At 400W RMS Power
  • Each Have A Peak Power Handling Of 1600W
  • Each Are 4 Ohms
  • Sensitivity Is 89 dB
  • $495.00 Per Pair (2)

I Am Going To Sell My Two 12" Infinity Reference 1252W Subs.

As For My Amps I Am Keeping My Phoenix Gold Octane R 5.0:1 Amp:

  • RMS Power Of 150W x 1 @ 4 ohms
  • RMS Power Of 300W x 1 @ 2 omhs

And Buy A Phoenix Gold Octane R 15.0:1 Amp:

  • RMS Power Of 500W x 1 @ 4 ohms
  • RMS Power Of 1000W x 1 @ 2 ohms
  • $379.90
BUT ANOTHER QUESTION ARISES...Can I Bridge These Two Amps Together To Combine Wattage To Power The Four Subs?

Do You Think I Will Need Another Battery To Accomidate These Subs And Amp?

What Do You All Think?
