6.5" sub

I found these 6.5" subs and was wondering if anyone knew more about them.
They would be really interesting if they could best my Image Dynamics 10 with 300W of power. The space savings would be a benefit too.

Have you tried or heard the EU-700 from ED?

As far as SQ and possibly SQL, do you think 2 of the Mpyres or EU-700 would do better than a single IDQ 10?

I'd take a 10" over two 6.5's any day.

I haven't had the chance to listen to an EU-700, but by looking at the specs, I'd take the Mpyre sub(weird name )

The ID 10 will sound better than the 2 6.5"s and get a lower extension.

Actually that is INCORRECT. If you use the recommended enclosures for both subs (ID 10 and Mpyre 65X) and run the T/S parameters into Win ISD, you will see that the Mpyre subwoofer actually plays 7hz lower in a sealed box before -3db. It also occupies a box 1/6 the space of the ID. As far as sound quality I am not debating that the ID is a good SQ sub I'm just saying that since the Mpyre uses XBL^2 at the very least it is very linear, so it should sound great too.

I am presently running the EU-700's in a box tuned to 30 hz.. I have to tell you these things get LOUD AND LOW! I have had people think they were 1 12's, 2 10's ect. I am running them off of a bridged ESX Q1752 Bridged (500w RMS) I will be building a box for 2 more soon and will run them with a Tsunami db1100d. One of the guys on www.icixsound.com hit just under 150DB (149.something DB) on a TL with 5 of them and ED Nine.1
I love these little guys! and for $50 each, how can you beat it?

Hey David, since you seem to be pretty experienced with the eu-700's maybe pick up one of those Mpyre 6.5" subs for comparison sakes? Worth a shot eh?

Just by "my Ears" wouldn't be a good way to do this. I think a shop with the proper measuring devices would be better. Not to mention I could buy 2 EU's for the price of one of the others. Maby that would be a good competition 2 EU's against 1 of the others...
Price being a factor, Elemental Designs takes the lead. lol
