2003 Stock Camry HU.. plug missing

I replaced my stock HU w/ a pioneer DEH 8500 and now i due to complications w/ the pioneer, i re-installing my stock HU back in. After removing the pioneer, i noticed that the installer removed one of the original plugs and spliced wires to fit the pioneer harness in place. Anyone have an idea of what i can do about this?

If you're familiar w/ the '03 Camry HU, i'm missing the plug on the left side. by the power cord.
Would i be able to find a harness to fit the pioneer plug and route it back to the Stock toyota HU?

You can order the reverse wiring harness from Metra. I believe the one you need is 70-1761. This is oposite of a normal wiring harness and is designed with the plugs that will fit into the back of the stock radio. Buy this, and it's color coded to aftermarket wiring, so match it up properly. Allmost any local car stereo shop should be able to order this part for you no problem. This is most likely the right harness for your car, but i could be wrong. BTW, most shops offer free, or discounted uninstall of all products they install.

Gen5 in pain still!

I'm in the process of doing a system, on my 03 SE. It's a pain because nothing fits!!!

As for your question. Go to Toyota and get the one or two harness that you are missing on your OEM HU, then just connet all the wire of same colour together and you are done. Do it right the first time and you wont have problems down the road. As for your installer? I don't know why he needs to splice wires to OEM wiring harness when the after market harness kit comes with both plugs for direct plug-in.

Good luck

I don't think he used an aftermarket harness... just the one provided by pioneer (not specifically for my car.)

Why Why Why?

If you are not going to reuse the same model pioneer deck it would be best to put back the OEM plug, and on your next HU upgrade make sure you get an adepter plug for your Toyota harness.
