ohms newb question

sorry for the newb question, wuts better 2 or 4 ohm, what is the diff
i was looking at a amp 2 power 2 subs its 1000bd watts mono @ 2 ohms, is this good bad or wut

First off, Ohms is resistance, so naturally, 2 Ohms is going to be less resistance than 4 Ohms. Because of this, you can run more power at 2 Ohms. But you have to make sure that you get your subs setup for 2 Ohms using Ohms Law. keep in mind that you can run an amp rated for 2 ohms at 44 ohms, but it will put out a lot LESS power. but you don't want to run an amp stable at 2 Ohms down lower unless you know it can handle it, cause it will heat up somthing fearce if your not carefull.
