Power vs Punch

Hey I am planning on getting this rf amp..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3004308655&category=18 797

Now, how much of a diff will i notice between the Power hx2's (2 of them) and the punch hx2's

punch can take 1000 peak per sub and power 2000 per sub, since the sub is 1000 watts what kind of a differnce would it make because both series of the sub should be able to handle the same amount of power. and they both can handle that sub supposedly.

Power is twice as much though

lemme know

peak power is meaningless....check the rms ratings and compare...

well

well the peak rms on the punch is 500 and there is 2 subs and the 500 x 2 = 1000 which is the peak of the sub, so considering it wont be pushing the full power of 1000 watts anyways would the higher peaks of the powers be pointless?

exactly....

so as long as the rms ratings are the same for both.....they're basically the same subs....just maybe one performs better with lower notes, and maybe one is crisper or something.....but in terms of power, basically....

I'm not really a fan of rf, so I don't know much about their stuff, so if you really want to know the diff between the power and the punch, oyu should read up on the reviews that people write online, or as somebody who's used them both.

good luck, and have fun

Dude just look at the way the subs are built. The surrounds of the Power are huge and the magnet is massive, its almost as big as the cone itself. I am a big rockford (as well as JL) fan i would love to have a 15" Power HX2.
With a bigger magnet you will get quick responding bass and with more surround means more sub movability and air flow and bass lowness. But be sure to get a very good power supply, BD1000 are great amps, friends got one on his JLW7 and it rocks. if you got the money and want the bass id get two but thats me .
