Need help with JBL speaker replacement

We have a 2001 Sienna Van with the JBL 8 speaker configuration. I removed a blown front drivers side door speaker last night, called the dealer to find that it's $214 to replace it.

With that said is there a better replacement speaker available for that amount of money?

It's 2.2 ohm, 30w. Part number 86160-08110.

Any help would be appreciated.

No and I wish it was. The center cone is much larger on the set in our van.

Personally. I would say to just get different speakers all together. If you have to pay anywhere near 214 for them you should just get some nice better speakers. Which will also have better handling power as well as better sound. Not to bash on JBL's but there is definatly better for the money.

Wink

That is true for $200 you can get a whole componant system for like 50-75 you can get some good sounding speakers that can just replace your old ones and sound better. Just goto a local car audio store and see if they can help you out on a good deal or definately check out EBAY for some good replacement speakers.

I replaced the stock with a set of INFINITY KAPPA 60.7cs 6.5". Not the very best set of speakers but far superior to the stock set.

I just saw a picture of it showing a side angle of the speaker. It looks pretty deep from front to back, would it fit without hitting the window in the down position or the back of the door frame?

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread; I replaced the stock with this set. There is clearance. Our van is the 2001 XLE.

Check the speaker depth for the newer models against the 2006 model. This is all that I can think of. Its an easy install unless you change out the crossovers and tweeters.
