Add subwoofer to 06 Avalon XL?

The stock audio unit sounds a little dead, and am thinking of adding a subwoofer -- maybe the same one used in the upgrad JBL system.

Question: does the audio wiring harness in my car have unused leads for a subwoofer that I might hang on the back deck? Also, is that where it would go? There's no "grille" on the deck, but maybe a subwoofer doesn't need a grille.

My former car, a 01 Camry XLS had a pretty good system and I miss it (though nothing else from thatr car. I love my Avalon.)

Maybe I just mean adding a "woofer." What I want is better bass, not the kind of BOOM that rattles the license plates.

good luck finding help upgrading the basic (and crummy) system. I get conflicting info everywhere I go. I love my Touring but the stock radio is the worst. CD's aren't too bad if you have the jbl 6 cd changer.

If the radio has the same plugs as the 4 runner and scion radio then to the best of my knowledge you can get the factory sub wiring harness and hook up a bazooka tube sub. This is equivalent to the factory sub upgrade on scions and corollas. Search some scion forums and you can get more info on what I am talking about. This has been done before and relatively cheap but I cannot say it applies to the stock avalon radio.
