CD player broken..fix it or not?

I have a Toyota JBL single CD+ cassette deck in my 2001 Camry. For some reason, the CD player stopped playing, whenever I put in a CD, the deck will try to read for 10 seconds or so before ejecting the disc. I was wondering if there is any quick fix for the problem? or if I should bring the car to let some shops do the diagnostic and repair (is it worth the money?) Thanks

I tried the CD/DVD player lens cleaner thing, but it didn't help. I tried 10 different Music CDs.. (both original and ...), none of them was able to load... anymore suggestion?

Take the whole thing out open it to see if the lens is not clear or see-through. If its not then the lens just burned out but for precaution get a q-tip dip it in alcohol and swob the lens...

Alcohol may be a bad idea, especially if the lens is plastic because it can cause the lens to cloud on some plastic lenses...been there done that before on a Yamaha CD-ROM.

Hi Mr Toyota lover :-)... I had the same trouble with my 2000 camry..

Eh! It worked for my factory HU I had in my Camry! It didn't read any of my CDs and sometimes it get stuck. I don't use it anymore because the display is gone I couldn't tell whether it was on or off + the sound quality sucked!!
