hcarman sound project

Just started working the truck's audio yesterday. Following some fantastic suggestion here, I am starting off with sound proofing. These are pictures of the passenger side rear door, 2 hours yesterday and 2 hours this morning. Hopefully it takes less time for other 3 doors.

I made a newbie mistake while doing this door . I was eager to fit the 2 piece of screen door repair for the 2 large holes that I forgot to put a layer of ensolite on top of the raammat on the outer door skin. And I didn't realize until I raammat those holes (pic 7 below). So I had to cut up pieces of ensolite, feed through the speaker hole and laid it down by feel.

More experienced members, what do you think? Anything I can improve on other doors?

Need to go out now. The whole project may take months. I will post some updates as it becomes available. Thx

Nice work, you did the rest of the door on that second to last pic right?

With the screen grill, it looks like there will still be some movement from not having a stiff barrier. When I cover those holes I use these corrugated plastic signs.

They are very stiff and do not flex at all, it looks like the screen and raammat will move in and out some, maybe absorbing some of the midbass.

That's all the raammat on that second to last pic. I saw PB mentioned it may be hard to put panel tight if too thick of raammat and ensolite between the panel and door.

I will put more coverage on other doors if possible, and look for those corrugated plastic. It's good this is just rear door with stock speaker, which I may or may not connect to the headunit at all. But when I pound the door from outside, I can already hear the difference
