Sub Tear

hey guys, just received my POLK/MOMO subs in the mail. as i was installing them, the first one went perfect, but when i was screwing the othere one in, the drill slipped and tore a little hole in the rubber part of the woofer. the holw is a really small one. maybe like the diameter of a pen tip. but i can definetly feel the sound differece between the two subs. i was thinking bout buying some silicone and puting some over the whole so it gets sealed. what do u guys thik?

Is the surround foam or is it infact rubber?

Basically you need to put silicone on the bottom of the surround and on the top.

If you have a foam surround there is this special glue that works great.

i have the rubber. and the crack is about 1cm in length. its really small. if i silicone it, will it ound like new of its already done with

Yep, should be fine. You shouldn't hear much of a difference the way it is now, so check the seal on the sub where it contacts the box. Did you use a foam/rubber gasket between the sub and the box?

my qlogic box came with rubber gaskets for the subs. i drilled right throught them fo that tight fit with no leaks

i fixed the tear with rubber ement and now it hits the same as the other sub. thanx everyone
