Gen5 Tweeter / AMP install

hey guys i will be installing the polk audio mmc65000 component set this week and have 2 questions

my first question would be the location of the tweeter. i wil lhave to make an adapter to conver the 6x9 location to fit the 6.5. so i will make it out of wood. Is it possible to mount the tweeter on the same board with the speeker or its better to have it somewhere higher. what are my options

my second question would be reguargin installing my second amp. i kno that i will be getting the power out of my capacitor and the ground i kno where to mount it, but the question arises with the remote wire. its a really thin whire that is also connected to the amp. what does that whire do and will the second amp need that wire to be connected as well?

right now i have a kicker 800.4 which is powering 2 2124Polk subs and a MTX amp will be powering the components

nice comps btw

I believe the tweeter is supposed to be like a foot away to be at the correct position.. but having it right next to it would be alright, but would be better closer to the top of the door.

The remote wire turns on the amp and actually makes the intial turn on, without it your amps wont work. You can just run the little wire to one and then run another little piece off it in the middle somewhere to the other amp.. thats what i did.

Ditch the cap, get a fused distribution block to seperate the power to each amp, then have the ground wire from each amp grounded to the same spot, if possible, less than 18 inches or ground wire.

Some amps have a remote turn on output(mine does anyways). If it has that you can wire the remote turn on lead from the headunit to the speakers amp remote lead input, then from that amp's remote lead output to the sub amp.

If your amps don't have that, you can run sperate remote turn on leads to each amp from the headunit, or T off from the one remote turn on wire to the other. Do whatever is cleanest in your install.
