I need an amp

Whatsup guys, Ive got a question. I need an amp for my subs and havent been able to find the perfect amp for my setup. I need to run power to these: 2 JL Audio 12" W3V2- D4's. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=12 My subs are D4, which means they run at 4 ohms, so Im not exactly sure how I pick a good amp. I am probly not going to be able to spend more than $500. I would like a good amp though.

Also, does anybody here have a set of these subs, but not in an original JL Audio box. I dont have a sub box and I am planning on building one this weekend. I need some suggestions. I might just build the HO Wedge box, the original one for these subs, but I dont know how to do the porting and stuff.

Wink

go with a Kicker KX series amp you would be able to run the amp @ 1ohm and it will be clean with those woofers. As far as building a box yes the port desighn is tough, but here is a link that could help you out http://www.carstereo.com/help2/Articles.cfm?id=31

Good Luck

That's what I would buy. Plenty more power than you need(you can always turn the amp down) , it's a Class AB amp so it'll have good sound quality, and it's one ohm stable.

I believe building an accurate ported enclosure is quite tricky. The design has to be specific to your sub and of course meticulous craftmanship. You may want to check with Mr Marv. He is very good at building enclosure.
