Hey guys, I need some help with this installation.
I can't figure out how to mount my speakers. I don't really want to drill any holes. Plus, I want to use factory speaker grilles. I don't know how those install either.
If anyone could give me some ideas, they'd be greatly appreciated!
I don't want to get them installed, I want to install them myself.
I would get factory speakers but they're $112 each.
To install the speakers you first have to take off the bottom of the rear seat (it just pops off if you pull up from the front), then remove the side of the seat between the seat back and the door. Both of these bolt onto to frame under the bottom seat cushion. Then, remove the rear third taillight cover. Once that is off you can pop off the rear deck cover that includes the speaker grilles.
After that it is easy to remove the factory speakers and install new 6.5" ones, which should have no problem using the factory mounts. If the speakers you want to use are not 6.5" you will need to buy an adapter so that they will fit.

That makes more sense then. You should still have the factory mounting brackets in the back, as well as wires running back there (if not it wont be to bad to run them). It's cheaper for them to make all cars that way. Your only problem then would be having to cut through the rear deck. You may be able to find the factory speaker grilles on ebay, or from a car thats been wrecked, but if not you will most likely have to cut the hole to match the grilles that came with the new speakers.

Nope.. that's what I mean, I only have the "holes" that the factory speaker mount slides into place. 2 rectangluar slots and 1 screw hole - looks like the bracket slides into the slots then you twist to lock and then screw down.
Can I buy these separate or are these the speakers itself that come riveted on.
You could probably buy them seperate; the speakers are not rivited into the bracket. I am suprised that they are not in there from the factory, as it is usually cheaper to just have everything there except for the speaker so that all models are the same.
They may be hard to find tho. If you go to a local car stereo shop and can find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about, there may be aftermarket brackets you can buy.
