wire soldering?

Hi, My speakers do not seem to get enough wattage and I think its because the wires need to be soldered. Will it make a big difference if I solder wires together, instead of just twisting it together. What about with the head unit wires? Thanks all.

i dont believe that it makes a big difference but id use splice connectors instead of twisting them together with tape

if you had dirty hands when you twisted your wires together it might make a difference but only a little bit. i aleays solder my wires incase they get tugged then they wont fall apart and shortcircit as the case may be

Twisting wires together + electrical tape = ghetto rigging.

Either solder + heatshrink or electrical tape. Or use insulated crimp connectors.

to get more "wattage" that isnt gona do shit..... u need a 4 channel amp for the speakers. radio's "aftermarket" put out anywhere from 9-24 nominal watts. factory radio 9-12 watts.

i was sorda laughing about the solder will make it better... naw just keeps it neat and nice, and have less problems of the wires coming apart.

soldering will give you more power to your speaker, but it wont be a big difference. with soldering it creates less resistance and therefor more power can be transfered.

solder is old school stuff, but gives the best electrical conductivity provided its not a cold joint.
butt splice is the fastest and possibly the most secure provided its done correctly.

but for me.... hehehe..... i take something call "Raychem" splices, which is specifically used in aircraft applications. I sneak those from work. They can't cheap, really really really high quality ones goes for about $5/pc.

The difference is probably even less than that.

If they're currently twisted together, it'll be more secure to use crimp connectors like butt connectors or caps.

Solder is great if you have the skill and the supplies laying around to do it. Otherwise just crimp the things togehter. The difference is probably inaudible.
