2nd Generation Sony Subs

I am running 2 Sony Subs that are 12's and a 1200 watt amp and for wires I have an 8 gauge running from the battery. For some reason I am not getting any power to the amp. The blue wire is hooked to my power antenna wire on the back of my cd player. I checked the fuses for both the amp and the Fuse box. I am wandering if the 8 gauge wire is to small and need to uprgrade to 4 gauge. I dont know anything about subs.

u should probably go to zero gauge since you are over a 1000 watts, also check you amp fuses, also on on a side note the blue wire is probably the amp remote turn on it should be hooked into the remote line on your headunit, which is generally also blue depending on the brand of h/u

you don't need to go to 0ga. 4ga is good enough. 4ga can handle up to 1400w and 0ga also costs an arm and a leg for good quality wires. check your wiring with the remote wire. on my sony deck, i have two blue ones and ones for remote on and ones for power antenna. power antenna means if you have a power antenna, when you listen to the FM/AM, the antenna will move up. there should be a wire for remote on. should be a solid blue wire with all HU.

8 gauge should be good for up to 1400 amps, and i highly doubt you're getting full power outta your system. what you can do to test if it's all set up right is tap the ground wire to another battery, and i've never heard of putting the blue wire (remote turn on, btw) on the power antenna. it should be right on the remote turn on wire that comes right out of the back of your deck.

C'mon boys, these are Sony products we are talking about here.

No need for 0 gauge.

Connect your "blue wire" (Remote Turn-On wire) to the BLUE/WHITE wire behind your cd player.

Sometimes the Power Antenna lead (BLUE ONLY wire behind your radio) does not work for turning on amps.
