Gen5 Bass in sedans - Camry

being that a sub box is mounted in the trunk of my Camry, no matter what bass setup i go with, i know that some bass stays trapped in the trunk. i could always just get more subs and amp power, but even then, some bass will still be trapped. plus, adding more subs will sacrifice more trunk space.

one solution would be to have the seats folded down to let the bass in the cabin. but driving with the seats folded down is ghetto! or, i could cut some holes in the rear deck, but i dont wanna cut up the car at all.

thats the problem with bass in sedans. thats why i always liked bass boxes inside an SUV or sumthin. no seats or rear deck to block bass!

wut other options r there for sedans?

hey lucanhookup, i like the way you did that.. is that just an empty space under there or did you place the subwoofer right under there so it plays into the cabin?

i roll w/ one seat down too. one thing u can do is face the subs to the back seat or put subs on the rear deck but in the trunk facing backwards u get a better deep bass. let me ask you guys something....if i put 3 12s in my 98 camry...one on each side of the trunk a little engled towards the back of the rear seats and one in the spare tire well would they cancel e/o out? or would it sound fine? im debating whether or not to do it b'cuz of i dunno wat it'll sound like. my friend had 3 12s in his avalon but the middle one was reverse sucking in air instead of pushing and w/ 2 600watt hifonics amps it sounded sick

Uhm...just take out the rear speakers. Then you'll have some holes in the rear deck and it requires no cutting.

i've tried different positions w/ my 15 and he best way to face it is towards the back of the car. i have my sub in the spare tire well and it still sounds good so u could just throw a box in there facing the back and u'll be fine. u should dynamat ur trunk and spray foam in the inside of the trunk lid so it resonates

Gen5 6X9 subs

im thinkin of putting some 6X9 subs in the rear deck. check these out...

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=264-837

i'll jus power them with a low-powered sub amp. shuld sound ok and the bass will fire directly into the cabin!

6x9 subs r pointless. if u want the full bass to hit the cab of ur camry...make a box the size of ur trunk w/ the speaker inside of a box inside the huge box and make a port going to the opening behind the rear seats when u flip them down. lol i dunno just an idea i had seen it done on a truck tho

I had a 15" box in my trunk but it took up so much damn space. Plus the thing rattled my mirror whenever i turned it up too much. I'm trading it in for a 12.

btw, if anybody wants to buy a 16Kv.2 for $150 shipped w/ box. Just PM me with your best offer.

I'm curious to see what kind of bass you guys are getting. I put in 2x 10's in my Corolla and the bass is pretty good.

Anyone in the area willing to let me sample their system?
