Take bass from speakers

I just put 2 12" subs in my car but i cannot turn the subs up high enough without having too much bass on my speakers. What can i install to not let any bass go to the speakers themselves so only bass comes from the subs, and the speakers just play mid and high.

You need a high pass crossover on your speakers. Probably around 80hz. If your headunit or amp that you are using to power your speakers does not have a crossover, you can get some 80hz inline bass blocker's.

Yes, a simple capacitors will work, but they have to be the right kind, and the right size for the desired frequency.

I think that will crossover around 400hz if your speakers are 4 ohm. I am far from 100% sure though.
