4th Generation What is going on?.. my amp got weak?

For some reason today my subs went quiet. I had just recently spun them to face the seat so i could put things in the truck without having them hit everything. So today i turned them around, and they sounded fine. When I started driving somewhere later that day though they sounded like they weren't even on.

So this is where i got out to check what was up and the subs were barely even moving let alone even getting any power. I move my gain up and down to see where it was at, maybe it had just spun down somehow. Nope the thing is exactly where I had it. And now im really boggled. I leave it off and drive home so that i can really take a look at it.

Now that im home I think, hey maybe i wired it wrong. So i check the wires, take the subs out check and see if the wires had fallen off. Nope this wasn't the case either. So now I really don't know what is going on. Later my friend came over, and he started messing with the RCA's. When he did this the subs would get softer and louder. So now were thinking hey.. somethings up with these RCA's.. but my question really is, how does it go from good to bad without doing anything to them? Do you think my RCA's are shot or got bent or something? If you tilt them a certain way they sound better but it still sounds really weak and crappy. The gain can be practically all the way up and they barely make any sound.

Right now im pretty frustrated and if somethings broke im gonna be really pissed. If its the RCA's though I won't be so mad. Anyways i'm looking to see what you gys think might be the problem, Or what i should check and fix?...

We got it to sound a little better.. but it still is nothing like it was. Do you think maybe it could be the RCA inputs on the amp? They are somewhat giggley. But asof right now I dont know what to think, this is really confusing me.

Thx for the help in advance

First thing to do is replaced the RCA's. If that doesn't work you probably have a bad solder at the amps input terminal.

So try some different ones? And can you fix the amps input terminals by resoldering it?

But if it was a loose connection, wouldn't the sound be either on or off, making a "crackling" noise and not at varying volumes?

Yes and yes, but are you comfortable with opening up the amp and soldering?

Should I see if I can just send my amp to MTX and have them look at it, and fix it possibly?

Did you rule out the RCA's?

Well turns out I need a y spliter to try it. Im also gonna hook up my brothers amp (Its a MTX too). His is operational right now so if his works on subs, mine is definatly screwed up. I'll find out if the new RCA's work soon, gotta go get one of those spliters. Any reccommended places, or just any audio place?
