4th Generation Need help with alternator whine

When I install a Pioneer EQ (DEQ-7600) i recently got, I get considerable alternator whine but without it everything is fine and it disapears. I have a Pioneer Head Unit running to a JBL and Infinity amplifier. I cant figure out what is causing it and any help would be welcomed.

I think this might just happen if you have two amps or something.. mine does it too. I heard you ground for both amps need to be close together and that can cause some noise.. but really it doesnt bother me

if it's the alternator whining, it just means that the alternator is trying to keep up with the demand for power. you might burn the alternator out faster than normal

I have both the amps grounded to the same location in the trunk and have a new high output alternator so I dont think thats the problem. Everything works fine without the eq installed, only when I install the eq do i get the problem. Maybe try a new ground for the headunit and eq????

Yes, try new ground point for the hu and eq.
Alt whine coming thru the speakers is usually a ground problem.

Get a noise filter.
They look like this:

They are effective against 'engine hum' and 'ticking' caused by alternators, ignition coils & spark plug leads

what you need is a "ground loop isolator" either than or re-run your wires...pioneers tends to have the alternator whines.. i have a pionner HU and i get it then i re-arranged the power to amp wire away from all the speaker wires and it went away

first off, that whine from the over use of an alternator is a old wives tale. the whine is caused from a bad ground (paint not scraped off) or the power wires being ran to close to the patch cables (RCA). try to check your grounds and then check the rca's.
