Gen5 6.5" 2-way or 3-way ok?

the stock front door speakers in the gen 5 cam are close in size n shape to 6X9's, but they're crap paper n the magnet size is very small. i was thinkin of puttin in a good pair of aftermarket 6.5's to replace them. here r my ?'s...

of course new 6.5's will sound crisper becuz of the tweeters, but will they give the same or better midbass response than stock? i ask becuz the stock cone area is bigger (6X9 vs 6.5). im guessing new speakers might give more midbass cuz they can handle twice the power, even though theyre smaller.

and, would new speakers change the ohm load too much, becuz im jus powering them with an Alpine HU (17W X 4). i think they'd be wired in parellel to the dash speakers. the new resistance will be lower than 4-ohm per channel. i just dont wanna damage the HU cuz of that.

im sure everyone will tell me to get components anyways, ha . but im jus wondering wut would happen if i went the cheapo easy route

well no you dont have to get comps. They are better but unless you have an amp you will never really see what they can do. As for the size.. i dont think the front speaker is a 6x9 unless im just unaware of this.. but just because a speaker has a higher wattage range doesnt mean it will sound any better. It depends all on the enclosure there put in.. and the amount of power being sent to them. I dont think you will have to worry about damaging your H/u either.

They wont nesicarily give better midbass either but.. most speakers are better then stock.. so im sure you woul dbe making a wise choice in changing them to at least something.. but dont cheap out and get really shitty ones
