No bass from 6x9s in the doors of my 03 Camry

I have an '03 Camry and recently installed some Infinity 692.7i in the doors. I am running a 60x4 RMS amp using the front channels for the 6x9s and bridging the rear to power my 12" sub. I went with the 6x9s versus a smaller, easier fitting speaker up front because I like a balanced sound and hate the, all to common, "subs in the trunk" sound. I was hoping the bigger cones would give me better bass but they don't seem to play as low as expected. I am however still playing with the amp/crossover settings.
Any tips in getting better bass up front would be helpful.

Also, I am considering replacing the dash speakers with some good 3-1/2". Since installing the 6x9s in the doors I have lost some of the heighth of the soundstage. Obviously, the doors are overpowering the dash. I will either go with the audiobahn 310Q or the Infinty 32.7 because both come with outboard crossovers that allow me to disconnect the tweeter in case of conflict with the ones in the doors. Essentially, giving me a 3-1/2" mid.
Any thoughts on this approach?

FYI: The Infinitys sound great the mids and highs are crystal clear even with my stock non JBL headunit. they were installed using the stock speaker frame with the speaker cut away. I can always find some more stock cones on Ebay for 10 bucks if I need them.

You'll have major difficulty putting a 3 1/2 speaker in the front dash. I just took mine out in an 02 Camry XLE in order to disconnect them since I'm installing Alpine 6 1/2 components up front. Don't listen to what the car audio sales sites says regarding what will fit in there. The actual size of the speaker is 2 1/2" with 1 3/8" depth. The opening in which to mount the speaker is only 2 5/8" across. You could probably mount a 3 1/2" making some modifications to the mounting area, BUT there is only about 1" clearance to the windshield making working there virtually impossible. Heck is was difficult enough just removing the back mounting bolt.

You may be losing some performance in the doors since you still have the dash speaker running which is affecting the impedance with the inline wiring.

The easiest thing would be to mount a tweeter that has an angled mounting baffle on top of the dash grill, which is what I'm considering now with my 6 1/2 comps while deciding the position for the best "sound stage."

Maybe 2ohm speakers and 4ohm crossover conflict

Thank for the info on the dash speakers I was just getting ready to order a pair. I still like the idea of putting something up there to raise the sound stage, but I am just not sure what frequencies will sound good with the Kappa two ways I have in the doors.

As for the 6x9s, their wiring comes directly from the amplifier while the dash are still wired to the radio. I do wonder however, if the Hi Pass crossover freqs on the amp are 4 ohm in nature and my Infinity Kappa 6x9s s are two ohm from the factory, when I set it to 60Hz am I really getting a 120Hz cutoff? Oh and by the way my amp say at 2ohms they are getting 75watts rms per channel versus the 60 watts stated in my original post.

Still tweaking and tuning....

Infinity speakers in general lack any sort of bass. They are pretty amazing with there highs, but when it comes to producing any sort of bass tone, they suck horribly.

Personally I didnt mind that though, being that id like to hear the actual music over lots of booming anyways.

I tried turning off the High Pass Filter and Wholla! I have great midbass up front. I can only think my earlier hypothesis is correct, the crossover settings on my amp are now incorrect due to the 2 ohm Kappas I am using. Hopefully, this info will help remove the label that Infinity Speakers don't have good bass. I giving them 75 watts rms, they can handle over 100, and they sound great. I have bass up front which gives me the balanced sound I like.
I deplore systems with the "subs in the trunk sound".

Crystal clear mids and highs, good tight midbass and a 3 year warranty all for $200.
See my other post for easy door installation. This deal is hard to beat.
