An easy way to install 6x9s in the Camry doors
I have the infinity 692.7i in the doors of my '03 Camry. Their mounting depth is over 3". What I did was take the stock speaker and cut away the cone and some of the fins. Then mounted the 6x9 to it. Then simply bolted it right back to the door in its original location. I had to trim a little off the back side of the door panel speaker grill to ensure the surrounds had enough space to flex but it was a pretty simple install and a lot less work than building baffles or using spacers most of which are too big or rattle.
