Need recommendation on a good 6x9 speaker replacement for my rears
I have a '97 Camry LE, with CDT EF-61 6.5 components with 1" tweets powered by Aura 2x150W amp. My HU, Alpine CDE-9852 powers the rear OEM 6x9s. But one has blown out already, so I'm looking for a decent replacement for them. I've tried listening to it with the rears turned off, but I rather have some decent 6x9s back there. I'm looking to spend around $50-$80 or so. The CDE-9852 gives 16w RMS and 45W peak.
I'm looking at the Pioneer and Infitnity ones, but too many to choose from, any ideas?

I have a 4th Gen. Camry and am looking to also replace my rear speakers with either pioneer or jbl. The Pioneer TS-G950M seem to have pretty decent specs and cost about 80 something bucks.

Pioneer A-series would be better and can be had in that price range.
on my camry, i have 2 punch 6x9'S from fosgate. IMO, they hit pretty hard, and still have that nice clean sound, but I am running it with a PG amp, so i dont know..
I had pioneers as well before, but if you're not planning to slap an amp for them, it might not sound so well to you, at least to me..
are you looking for bass in your speakers? or are you looking for crisp sharp sound?
I may add a sub later, but for now, some nice 6x9s would be a better idea. If I do get a sub, I'd just leave the hole open.
I'm not planning to run these on an amp, so they'd be ran off the HU's power, which is 16RMS and 45Peak. That 6x9 sub looks pretty nice, but it takes too much power for the sub.
I'm looking for more of a clear sound, because getting good bass would be hard with a 6x9 off HU power. But if there are some 6x9s with good bass in that 16W RMS range, recommend it =).

Based on your statement for looking for clear sound - the Infinity's would fit the bill - especially with their Rotating UniPivot silk dome tweeters, which would be essential to get good sound out of the back deck, in my opinion. However, Infinity's are a bit out of your price range. Another option would be the Alpine SPS-690A, about $75 delivered, and provide clear upfront sound and are efficient to run off of the HU.
The Alpine SPS-690A's run fine off of a regular HU. They are last year's model so don't know if you can go listen to them anywhere anymore - but I did earlier in the year and they sounded great. The Infinity REF 9612i's you can go listen to at BB with a regular HU.
if you are looking for clear sound, then yeah, infinity would be a good selection, i would also recommend diamond audio, or eclipse.. you should be able to find some deals on those on ebay or something.. but yeah, those are a few that throw out crisp clear sound.
