I'm trying to upgrade my alarm to a viper with the paging remote and a few other features. I plan on doing the install myself. (i've done it before for my dads van)
Does anyone know where i can buy the alarm online. all the places dont sell it unless you get them to install it...

I bought mine through a connection a buddy of mine had at Audio Express in Las Vegas. Viper 300ESP for $110 delivered. I helped install it with the previously mentioned buddy. He used to install car audio and security, including Viper, so it was a piece of cake for him.

Maybe check out eBay...?
I was trying to avoid ebay for this, but I guess I may have to do that. Thanks.

you do lose the warrenty if its not installed by the retailer. i.e. besy buy.
Well since they are close by and the install price seems resonable I'll just go ahead and let them do it. I've got a friends who runs an audio shop also, so if I cant get in touch with him in time then Ill just let BB do it. Warranty is always a good thing to have.

i actually work in the install bay as a technician at best buy and everyone out there is MECP certified and is best buy certified as a technician. we have to pass a lot of tests to actually become an installer. install on the alarm is free. its worked into the price of the alarm. make sure they give you the best deal possible.
I have the Viper 791xv. It was installed by a certified shop. Hasn't worked since they day I bought it, took it back many times. They say they can fix it, they never do because you can't fix something that never worked.
I blame the install more then I blame the actual alarm. But I wouldn't even use this alarm on a car I found in the junkyard, let alone use it to protect my motor swapped, fancy rims and suspension sitting, stereo installed Tercel.
