There are several threads in the Camry Forum concerning replacing the rear speakers. I would suggest searching to see all the different options in which you could take to do this, and better instructions concerning removing the cover and speakers, etc.
The original speakers were 6x9's, but they are mounted in an odd configuration in that they only mount with three screws/bolts. Most likely you will have to modify the rear deck frame to accomodate the speaker size, or else there will be a 1/2" or so gap between the top of the speaker to the deck. What I've read done involved grinding or cutting out slightly more until the speaker sits flush. What I did was take some thick rubber/foam weatherstripping and it was solid enough to make up the difference, so I didn't have to cut or grind the rear deck. I had to mark and drill four new holes to mount the speaker, but fortunately the screws were long enough. It feels like they're in there solid, with no gaps, so I think that it'll work, and the deck/speaker grills still had room to sit back normally.
As for wiring, what I did was remove the plug from the OEM speakers and soldered them onto the new ones. The fujitsu-ten speakers in there had a + and - listed on the terminals, so I didn't have a problem knowing where to solder the connections to the new ones. With the plugs on the new speakers, they can just plug and play to the wiring.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: Yeah, the reason I decided not to hack away the rear deck was that if I ever wanted to put the original speakers back in, I wouldn't have to do anything different than take the aftermarket speakers out, reattach the plugs to the originals, then remove the weatherstripping and put the old speakers back in.
