Ok here we go, I apologize early for the long post but please read and please help
A couple months ago my stock head unit would cut off intermittently and not turn back on for minutes to hours later. I started to think that the AC was the culprit because it didnt seem to have a problem until the AC was on for a decent amount of time. I could be wrong though.
A month ago the radio would play but i would hear no sounds from the speakers and after a while the sound would return.
Nope it didnt stop there, A week ago I realized that even with the key out of the ignition the radio would continue to stay on, though the music wouldnt play added to the intermittent problems from the other monts
And unfortunately last night the music stopped playing totally, though the head unit is showing to be on and working.
Now i dont know about u guys/gals but i cant drive without some hard hitting base, setting off alarms a block away and rattling my brain

so i decided to try and get down to the problem.
I removed the bezel and glove compartment boxes to get to the factory amp and radio, and anything else getting in my way and this is what i discovered.
1 When the main and speaker adapter plugged into the radio it seems as if the car was in the on position on the ignition but not started
if u dont understand that it's like when u turn your car to on and before u actually start it, the gas, airbag, and oil light would stay on.
2. When i removed the main adaptor from the radio it would go back to normal acc mode, the way it supposed to be.
3. When i had the main adaptor in and the speaker adaptor removed it would be in the regular acc mode
4. I even removed both of the amp adaptors and with the head unit fully plugged, acc mode on the ignition seemed like the unstarted on position.
So from hours of frustration and confusion i figured this out, Somehow one or more of the headunits speaker adaptor leads has a charge which is causing the incorrect ignition mode.
Or my head unit is pretty much fried (something internally has fused) and somehow when connected (through the speaker adpator) give the computer or something else a false signal which in turn is giving the incorrect ignition position.
I thought that maybe i had some speaker wire either toughing something negative or positive in the car but after reinspecting every amp wire and speaker connection everything was perfectly connected, sealed of, and protected.
Has anyone ever experienced this problem b4 with the head unit and or factory amp?
I actually dont even know if it is the amp and if the amp actually works anymore, no lights on it unfortunately
This is my system specs or was...
Factory head unit
Factory Amp going to 4 channels front mid and tweeter ran off front channel
Lo-Hi rca converter leading to 3 amps ran off of rear channel
2x bazooka 800w i think 300 rms
1 bandpass enclosure
2x sony xplod 12" 1300w 380 rms
1x kenwood 500w 2channel amp 200rms per
2 Pioneer 6x9 350w 100 rms per
Even though my setup isnt all that .. Expensive It Knocks!!!!!
People with more expensive systems in my area cant touch my Solara
PS. Is there a way to check the factory amp or is there a way to bypass the wiring and actually get the amp to work and get my front speakers working atleast.
i would like to continue using head unit because it's kinda a security feature, people/theives who look into the car wont see what i really have and they normally wont break into your car to steal the head unit. I know a aftermarket would be so much better but i havent even put an alarm on the car as of yet so not looking to put aftermarket in until the alarm is straight
NOOB question, what determines gen 1 - gen 6?
