Boss amp or Rockford

I currently have a Rockford Fosgate amp model RF2002 which suppose to put out 50x2 at 4ohms,100x2 at 2ohms, 200x1 bridged. It came with 2 free 10' Dual subwoofers. I had it installed in a 05 Corolla and it sounded like crap. The bass wasnt deep. I now have a 07 Camry. My question is should I just buy new 10' subs??? OR go this route...I was looking on ebay at an Boss amp C-700 which suppose to put out 1200 watts, 200x2 at 4ohms(rms). I was also looking at Sony Xplod 10' subs 300watts rms each. I know Boss isnt better than Rockford but I want deeper bass. Anyone have any suggestions??

new subs, and probably a new amp. you could use that amp for some speakers up front or something. If the woofers were free.. then thats the bad part. Dual already sucks ass so, getting them for free isnt great either.

Also that Boss amp... forget about it...

As for the Sony xplos's, I'm not gonna say they are good but, for a cheap sub I havent heard many cmplaints about them.

You could also try just getting one more expensive 12 inch, then it would be much better. 2 crappy subs is worse then 1 incredible sub in my opinion. But thats given you have the money to power it nicely as well.

I would look into some new subs, and some of good quality. If the amp doesn't work well w/ them then also get a quility amp.

if you want some deep bass, i would say go for some fosgate subs.. i used to have a pair of punch p3's and it was loud as hell. a fosgate sub and amp would probably be what you need.

That Boss pry puts out 1200 watts in the very millisecond that is gets struck by lightning. Otherwise, expect that rating to be unrealistic.

Well I decided to go ahead and order 2 10' Sony Woofers and that Boss amp. Me being cheap. Got another question, if im going to use my factory radio will I need to purchase a Line out converter? Also the woofers put out at least 300 watts RMS and the amp 200x2. 1200 watts bridged. Will I need a Capacitor? Help me out folks

I hope that you are not expecting good sound out of that combo. You get what you pay for.

fosgate hands down. boss is cool, but they suck, that's budget audio stay away from it if you want quality and arn't afraid to throw domn some green.

first, get a mono amp. rocford fosgate is good, but personally i think they're too much money and not enough juice. get hiphonics (sp?) they're decent amps wiht a LOT of power and arn't half bad in price. second, get 2 12" subs. 10's are good, but if you want deeper bass, get bigger size subs. for subs i reccomend alpine or infinity subs.

where to start....
rockford USED to be nice stuff. they're current stuff is not made very well and is actually pretty ugly if you want to go that far .
with that said, i would do one of two things: 1 sell the rockford amp to a friend. 2 keep it and run one 10" sub off of it. you don't really want to run only one set of speakers off an amp and the other off the headunit. the unamped speakers will clip way before the amped speakers will. you probably won't notice it unitl it's too late and you've blown your speakers.....something to keep in mind.
you sound like you're trying to do a budget system, which is totally cool. everyone has a different budget. budget doesn't have to mean bad though. your rockford amp is decades better than the Boss you are talking about. you would be better off running one nice, properly matched sub off your amp than trying to power two crap subs off that amp. additionally, you would be better running one good sub off your amp than buying a crap amp and crap subs. people think they need two subs for good sound....not sure where that comes from.
one of these Alpine 10" SWE-1042 subs would be better than two of the sony subs you're talking about using. there is much better on the market, but one of these alpine's would be a perfect match for your rockford amp.

the boss amp is cheap and is not going to put out the kind of power it claims it will. it will also starve those sony subs (which don't sound good in the first place) of power if you try to run one off each channel. don't underpower a speaker just so you can have two. you can damage a speaker by underpowering it as easily as you can damage it by overpowering it. you could bridge the boss amp to get 600w rms @4ohms, but the subs would have to be dual voice coil 4ohm speakers to run both of them @ 4 ohms to the amp.
if they aren't dual voice coil 4 ohm, these Kicker KKR 05CVR104 10" would be a good choice. they will pound the sony's into the ground.

bottom line, keep the rockford amp. bridge it and run one 200watt rms sub off it and call it a day. or, run the boss amp with two of the Kicker subs and ditch the sony subs.
