Hello all!
It's been a long while since I have posted, but way back when, I promised to post some pictures of my stereo install for my single cab. A lot of people have been scratching their heads about how to fit a sub behind the seat. Well, here's proof that it can be done with zero sacrifice in leg room. I have my seat all the way back, and clearence is perfect.
Pioneer 4800
Rockfords in the doors (was temp, but they sound pretty damn good!)
Alpine 240 for the fronts (100w per chan)
Alpine 350 for sub (200w @ 4 ohms/mono)
8" Polk/Momo sub (I forgot the model, but it's from Crutchfield)
in a custom box covered with some fun bling (since it spends it's life hidden, what the hell!)
The key to fitting all this was to make the box out of 1/2" MDF thus saving a couple of inches of depth. I braced the hell out of it, and since it's such a small sealed enclousure, the 1/2" is plenty ridged. I wouldn't try it with a bigger box, but the .25 cubic foot, 8" encloure whales!)
I also wired up a jack to the rear AUX input in the head unit through one of the blank panels in the dash for the ipod.
