I recently bought a a8000t audiobahn amp..i received it today and went to go hook it up and it put out no sound and the protection light was lit up, but the power light wasnt. The fuses checked out to be good(not blown). I took it apart and there appears to be nothing burned up or anything of that sort. One of the blue led's that lights up the audiobahn lettering is unplugged, one wire came out of the harness that hooks into the board...but i doubt that has anything to do with the status of the amp.
Ok First double check the fuses again with a tool, I've seen fuses that looked perfect but still read as blown. Double check the ground, remote, power wires. I had a situation where my amp power light wouldnt come on but the protection light was on b4 and it ended up being a bad connect somewhere, cant remember though. Also check the speaker wires, if all is well then i'd say u may have gotten a defective amp. By the wire not being into the board and the blue led not hooked properly could be a problem. If u bought this from store or online get money back, if u bought from person or street question the person u got it from about the bad wiring.
Well i hooked up the blue led, and hooked it up today, all leds light up..but power no deal..i was told from the person that hooking it up just to power and ground it is ok..power light comes on without remote wire being hooked up...but havent tryed that..but like that would help me the rem needs to be hooked up to turn the amp on to work correct?..yea i was going to try some new fuses just for the heck of it.
As far as hooking up the power and grounds only and the power light coming on, shouldnt work else that would mean your amp would be powered up even when the car is off. Even though it isnt technically on because the remote wire is not connected.

you have to have the remote turn on hooked up. it sends the signal from the deck to the amp to tell it to turn on. you need to check and make sure you have a solid ground. your amp can go into protect mode if one of your speakers is grounded out. if you are using a 4 chennel. if not, you need to check your speaker connections on the amp, as well as making sure the amp is clean and free of corrosion. as stated above, use a digital multimeter to check for voltage at the uses. use your ground lead and ground it to something on the car. use your power lead on the fuse and check for 12V.
I hooked it up without speaker wires and RCA cables hooked up and it made no difference protection light came on. Its got to be something internal. So unless its these fuses, i think im out of ideas.
Yep no dice, i got ripped like a beyotch on this one....idk how you can power the amp up without the remote wire..doesnt work looks like i got scammed, lucky this dude doesnt live nearby state wise or hed be getting a knock on his door.
I tried new fuses, no dice...same thing..protection light..leds light up, and fan is working. I might try re wiring what i thought was wrong inside but idk...im trying to sell it for parts to see if i can get some of my money back. Should of known.
I was bored last night and decided to take it apart again for a thorough look. I noticied that a component on the circuit board was snapped off, its legs are still in the holes tho..barely noticable. Idk what the component was now. If someone has a a8000t they can open up and check for me. Im going to be asking this question around to see.
I dont know how the F it was broken off its out in the open...unless someone was F'ing around inside and wanted to bend it up right and bent it too much and snapped it.
could be a loose ground wire, maybe it's doesn't have a good connection....or maybe ur subs are friend, but i doubt it, check the ground.
oh and don't buy audiobahn, they're over rated on how much power they can handle, i blew the shit out of em...i had the flame q's 12" subs...yea they don't handle 1100 rms like they say they do. =P
If anyone has a a8000t please let me know, as i could use a pic of the inside of the circuit board to know which component is snapped off....I'm assuming its a capacitor...since it only has 2 legs and the holes are too close together to be a resistor...and theres a white circle on the board where it should be soldered in. I'm going to take another look at it..see if i can figure it out..if not its being sold to highest bidder on ebay...for parts.
