kenwood or alpine double din?

I'm looking for a double din and i have narrowed down to three 1.kenwood ddx6019 2.kenwiid ddx8017 3.alpine iva w200 Anyone with experience with any of theses particular models? to me the features are so similar, but there are little things that just make me unsure of which model i should purchase. It will be installed in my gen 5 cam. The biggest concern i have is that the dash is up at an angle and i will have glare....i'm ;leaning towards the ddx6019 becuasse the screen tilts downwards. Any opinons or advice would be great thanks

I've heard fantastic things about the W200. Search around on www.elitecaraudio.com forums, and you're bound to find some comments.

I love my Kenwood deck :P My Alpine isn't bad either. They both perform the same but the Kenwood looks nicer :P

yea the kenwoods look more elegant. The only thing that makes me want to get the alpine is the full speed ipod function. Kenwood hasn't gone through that generation of ipods...so i don't know if i should just wait a couple months for kenwood to come out with a 2007 line..hopefully with the full speed ipod function

Honestly, and I'm not saying this to be rude, but it seems to me that you might prefer the Kenwood for its aesthetics, ease of use and other "mainstream" features, which is fine, go with what you think looks good and what you are comfortable with. Alpine, it seems, is a little more "specialized" insofar that they offer far more processing capabilities and are directed in more of an audiophile-type-direction as far as their units go. Of the three "big names" in the car DVD "industry" Alpine, Kenwood or Pioneer would all seem to be adequate choices, it just depends on what kind of bells and whistles you like (or don't like).

Yea i know what you mean....i'm not in this for looks....i am more for sound control. I have an alpine cda 9835 at the moment but i want to upgrade to a double din...Looks of course will win me over as anything else would....but i also want it to function to my liking....and no you are not being rude, its just hard to choose when you are dropping a grand on a dvd. I want to make it right the first time and not have to worry about not getting what i wanted. Yea kenwood IMO has been easier to use....but alpine tome has better sound controlling properties and have been more appealing.....thats why i'm torn between the two...they seemso similar in property that i think i would behappy either way...I guess my biggest concern is that i wont be able to see the screen to navigate during the day due to glare.

Only one way to solve your problem then...go audition them.

I'll say this though, car audio isn't a hobby, its an addiction. That said, very rare is it that someone finds exactly what they want (first try no less) and keeps it for the long haul. Many guys are always swapping out gear. If you do find something you like and will keep for a long time, good for you! If not, don't feel too bad about it. And there's always e-bay...incase you want to recoup some of your funds for your next purchase.

^haha yea ebay....yea i know we are all upgrading and moding, lol. It is the worst addiction, lol. I just want this radio to last for a while before i go and upgrade again, lol. I've prety much narrowed it down to the two models, now i guess its almost a cointoss for me cuz they are both so similar....second thing is, if i buy if ebay alot of the sellers don't carry a warranty, so i'm a bit weary spending that type of money to end up having a defect.
