2002 Toyota Deck and MP3 Input

Hi,

I have a 2002 Camry LE V6 with the NON JBL system and want to hook up an MP3 player to it.

I have a few options:

- Buy a portable CD player with Tape deck cassette adaptor and get so so sound

- Find an adaptor that can connect my factory deck and get some RCA inputs so I can hook up any device with good sound. So for PIE makes a device for $150!! Here is the link to the device: http://www.pie.net/sec12sb1p.htm

- Replace the factory deck with a CD/MP3 player deck which has excellent FM receiption, ID3 tag support for MP3 and a RCA or headphone jack line in support for future devices.

Any suggestions on what to get and who installs the stuff nicely? I don't want some punk to gut my car and destroy it in the process.

Well to be honest, the first two options suck. For $150 you can almost buy another deck. Seeing as to how your 2002 Camry has a 2 din deck, it will be hard to find a 2 din deck with all the features you want. I know that there are CD Changer auxilery inputs for many brands of car stereos for around $20, however.

double din deck

i've been told by a couple of installers that gen5 camrys don't have a true double din opening. what i mean by that is if you wanted to buy two regular din opening head units they wouldn't fit. they said that after installing the mounting kit the opening would only be a din and a half in size.

Judging from Mach_Y's pics...the set up is definately dbl DIN as most, if not all Toyota are.

2002Camry: You're only feasable option would be to get an MP3 deck or a FM modulated CD changer.
