Installing Amp to OEM HU

I also posted this on SG

I just installed my amp, powered it up to my OEM HU, and now I can't figure out how to install the Navone N-85V.

For those that aren't familiar with the Navone N-85V, it allows you to hook up an aftermarket amp to an OEM stereo. Why do you need it? There are no RCA pre-amp outlets in our OEM head units (at least not on a 1st gen Sol. You can use two speaker - and + to bipass with the Navone N-85V. And then you use the Navone N-85V's RCA out to your amp.

My question, why the hell can't I use the Black and Red wires that go into the HU? It's the same thing IMO. I haven't tried bypassing into speakers yet. But I don't want to dig around for wires, more so then what I already have. And if the red and black wires don't work, doesn't that mean the speaker wires won't either? Its the same wires!

If anyone has a simple solution (and don't tell me to buy a aftermarket HU LOL) it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance! 8)

I am not familiar with that unit. So I don't know exactly what you are feeding into it. Many of the OEM toyota HU's use low level (preamp) signals to a external amplifier. Newer and premium OEM's use digital signals to the amplifier. If you have the digital signal then the Navone is either deciphering the signal (after the HU) or converting the speaker wire to low level (after the external amp). Post a in depth description of what it states or a link to a pdf file. I am sure that there are plenty of users on here that had to use it as well.
