Alpine CDE-9852?

Has anyone had any experience with the Alpine CDE- 9852, or the 9856? I am going to get one of them installed on Saturday in the 94 Camry. Anything I need to know before I buy this, any reviews? I am getting this headunit because of the Ipod hookup.(extra $30)

Personally, I'd go with the 56 becuase it seems there are two more sets of preouts (allowing for easier upgrade later), HD-Radio Ready (again, allwoing to later upgrade with the seperate HD tuner), satellite radio controls, and cd changer controls (once again, for upgrade at a later time).

So you are getting this head because of the ipod interface. I stongly recommend you try before you buy. I found that controlling the ipod via alpine is very fiddly, and it is very tricky to do it while driving as you are looking at the screen, not at the road.

I have the CDE-9852 and it works great. Buttons take a little bit of time to get used to, but now they work great and are convient. But if the 56 has AUX inputs in the front and HD-radio upgradability, I'd go for the 56 definitely.

And honestly, i'd try to find a comparable Pioneer with IPod capabilities. Just installed my P880PRS and the thing soungs 10 times better than my old Alpine.
