re se 10

heard alot of hype about these re se tens so i bought one, waiting for it to get here. puttin this baby in 88 4x4 xtra cab. hopein some one has some words of wisdom. i wanted 2 but got talked in to one is this gonna be enuff. planin on builldin 30hz slot ported box, what dop ya think?

sounds good.. definatly have always been good things to say about RE's equipment in general. Specially the SE model. That thing should do pretty nicely with a good powered amp

I got a new box and my JL 10w7's wont fit. I thought about getting the RE se's in 10". I hear they sound better then the JL's. Keep us updated

RE Owns. I really wanted one of their subs, but the price tag drove me away. Think I'll try one down the road sometime. Def. not your average sub here though. Built like a rock. SPL pretty much all day long, but i hear the SQ isn't bad.

ported or sealed

not much room to work with here, now im wondering if i should go with a sealed box. ive heard ported is louder. anyone out there have a sealed box with a re se 10.

Ported enclosure will give you about 3dB boost at or near the tuning frequency. Its also more efficient vs. a sealed enclosure.

Sealed sounds better (more accurate), smaller enclosure size, but less efficient (won't play as loud as a ported enclosure with same amount of power).

re se

finally got it in tonite, this baby is bad! for one ten im totally impressed. it pounds. i used to have 2 rockford he2's and this one re sounds better and for sure hits harder. anyone out there lookin in to re i would definitly reccomnned them, worth the money.
