No sound from stero

My 91 camry v6 le's stero will turn on but you can't hear any sound and the antenna does not go up. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

sounds like lose wires. check the connection in the back.

maybe, maybe not, but more than likely, yes. Always check your connections before doing anything else!

Is it the stock one? Does it work with tape('91) .....need more info

If it works with a tape then your problem is an antenna problem.

You might need to replace the Antenna MAST or the motor. When you first turn the car on with the radio on do you hre the motor trying to raise the antenna? If you do then you most likely need to replacew the mast.

If you hear nothing you may need to replace the motor or you could possibly have a short in the antenna turn on wire(unlikely) or the radios antenna turn on ciruit is faulty(again unlikely)
