Before getting the caps, I'd suggest doing the BIG3 upgrade before anything else...

What guage wiring do you plan on running for power? I wouldn't go higher than 4 Guage.

Personally I'd ditch the cap and throw a yellow top battery in the mix instead... I hope this doesnt start a battery VS. cap thing...

You mention your new to this stuff... give http://bcae1.com a read. Good luck and post lots of pics.

What thing? There is no thing. Caps are good for somethings, batteries good for others. Each has their place, a battery just has more, LOL.

Well most of the time when the word Battery and Cap are used in the same sentence it turns into a 50 page long argument. lol.

EDIT:

Forgot to mention. I usually came across the threads back when i was researching benefits of batteries and caps. All i got were useless threads where one would argue caps are great and others would argue they are a waste of money and batts are good.

I know, I was just giving you crap. I'd like to think the last couple thread we discussed batteries and caps had opened many people's eyes to the proper advantages and disadvantages to using batteries and/or caps.

It is pointless to argue. Caps versus batteries is almost as bad as the HU voltage debate. Enjoy your equipment. I have worked for Fujitsu for nine years and have benefited in over five thousand in savings (probably closer to seven). Can we say, Sweet. Heck. Now you have me wandering. I will have to add that crap up.

DIscount for YOU! DISCOUNT FOR ALL! lol. Yea its like comparing apples and oranges, they serve different purposes and have different places. I think the topic of debate was weahter it was good or not to have a cap, but i think it winded down to, that poeple misunderstood the purpose of its use(correct me if i'm wrong). Oh an welcome to the world of car audio. Hope you enjoy everything.

We get one purchase of a compleate system per year at 55 percent on HU's and 65 percent on speakers. On model changes, they tend to give better discounts. In 2002 we had discounts as high as 80 percent. I sell my setups every year to fund future projects. Since I am hitting 30, other things are taking priority. My current equipment only concists of 8062 comps and a 5422 amp with a avn2455 HU.

Sweet!!!! Thats a killer deal. You can sell an old system and COMPLETELY fund the next one. Good deal.

What is it you do for Fujitsu?

I'm a technician on the solder waves and robots. It took about four years to build up enough equipment to cover the cost of a new system. Mainly due to the fact that I was buying more each year. The cool thing was that it meant that I had a budget that doubled each year. In 2004 and 2005 I actualy made money. The key is in the product purchased and the timing of the sale. Top of the line HU's and 4 channel amps have the best resale. Put them on sale in April (just before the new models) and everyone is buying. This pretty much holds true with all brands.
