They are all going to be pretty nice HU's for the purpose. I would just compare the features you might use the most and the cost associated with it. I prefer alpines ipod interface, but the cost with the cable may be more than what you can afford. The only one I would disregard is the kenwood. It is a older model and lacks some of the feature to price ratio that the others offer. The panasonic is actualy a pioneer. All three lack any real processor control, but they do allow you to upgrade to a external processor or nav. In my opionion, the alpine would be the better buy. Just the usb control would be making it worth the extra cash.

You say that you like the Alpines interface. Why so? They all have an ipod interface. They all say that you can hook up the ipod and control the ipod from the reveiver.
I like the Alpine too, but I was just trying to save some money.
They all have different interfaces and cotrols. I found the alpine to have a menu easier to navigate. The kenwood has a slower response to compared to the alpine. Mainly due to it being out for a longer period of time. I haven't used the pioneer, so I can't comment on its speed or menu.
alpine is probably the best choice of them all
panasonic has never been greatly used, and same goes for kenwood but I do like kenwood better then panasonic
