CD deck not working anymore, what can be the problem?

I have a stock stereo unit from 2001 Camry (single CD + cassette+radio), the CD player just suddenly stopped working, when I put in the CD, the unit failed to read the cd, however, it doesn't eject the CD automatically, I have to push the eject button. I was wondering what could be the problem, and if it is worth it to have it fixed? (can someone give me an estimate on how much it would cost for fixing?) Thanks!

Try getting a laser cleaning CD and see what happens, you may have to buy an aftermarket one, but I wouldn't sweat having to invest in something that will end up sounding better than stock.

Like BlueFusion stated, it sounds like a dirty lens. A cleaning CD might help.
