HU on the fritz? On its way out?

I posted in this forum a while ago about getting my system up and running, but still couldn't get it to work properly. Well, recently, I had to replace my gas tank, which left me without a backseat for a few hours, so I decided to re-ground the amp and give it one more shot. Well, I flipped on the HU, and, success! Or so I thought... problem being the amp will only turn on when listening to the radio. If I put a CD in, the amp turns off, which is why I was pulling my damn hair out for a week and no one here could really place what was wrong. Its a Sony CDX something or other (its about 4 years old, and has the fold out motorized face and remote). Are there settings or a master reset for the deck that might rectify the problem? Or I am puchasing a new one?

ok easy fix. you have the amp remote wire hooked up to the antenna wire, so when the radio is on the amp goes on and when you play a cd and the antenna is not needed the amp turns off. if you take your radio out there is a blue wire and a blue wire with a white stripe. you want your amp remote wire hooked up to the one with the white stripe.
