Scrap Subs or Not

I didn’t know Toyota nation had an audio section . I wanted your opinions if I should scrap these subs & get a new setup or get an amp that can power them properly.

I have two Premier TS-W1241C:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069929_34658_tab=B,00.html?compName=PNA _V3_ProductDetailsComponent

& a Kenwood KAC-7251:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-4YnD1peD6aK/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?I=113KAC7251

i know the setup doesn’t match but that’s how I "got it"

The subs are rated 500rms each... Their single coil so I was only getting 150rms @4ohms to each. So i got a single box and bridged the amp to get 460rms @4ohms to one sub... And what do you know the amp died on me... It still powers up but i get ZERO from the sub...

I was considering getting a kicker zx1000.1 or something similar in a mono amp @ 2ohms. As I would bridge the two subs to get 2ohms and get 500rms to each.

The amp is around 350 new on ebay... For the money i was thinking i should just scrap it and get something like the Infinity sub/amp/box package from bestbuy, when they have the packaged deal its around 400.

Two Infinity REF1252W:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=PWGBGTQJL1P1TKC4D3HVAFI?sku Id=7730155&type=product&cmp=++&id=1140392384210

And One Infinity REF611A:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7730093&type=product&productCate goryId=cat03087&id=1140392383944

The rest of my setup is a Premier DEH-P680MP w/ ipod connection, A Scosche 1600w rated wiring with a .5 Farad Capacitor, & monster rca cables...

So what do you recommend I do? I'm trying to not spend over 400 on the rest of the sub setup...

Respect

AE92 just a guess

u drove the amp 2 hard and blew it to begin with the amp rms wasnt high enough 4 2 subs they need 500w rms not maxium peak 500w get a amp rated at 1000w rms and get a 1.5 or 2 fard cap so the amp has power on the demand ( as for bridging them u probely can but will they last long it all depend on how u use them)

can I ask how you wired the two subs to get a 4ohm load on the amp?
If your not too big car audio freak I suggest picking up a new amp and sticking with the old setup assuming the subs are still ok.
This would be my choice, the amp im also looking at for my next project.

It does take some juice, so a big 3 upgrade is a must. But please no caps

Yes no cap...

Keep your old subs, I would say they are probably better then the Infinity Refs anyways, although I do like the refs.

That Nine1 should be well enough power for them.

Wow i didnt know anyone responded to this thread... I just got my rims i'm about to do the 4.5 font end conversion & then get my amp...

Right now I'm thinking about getting a:

Alpine MRD-M1005... its around 300 on ebay
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fSuZId6...0&I=500MRDM105

And if with the new power the subs dont hit i was thinking about getting some Apine Type Rs... I was considering 10s because i think they play fast rap and dancehal better... i find with the 12s its like it hits so long it doesnt come back fast enough... if that make sense

The Subs are single coil 4 ohm rated... And the amp is a 2 channel amp @ 2 or 4ohms and brideable to 4ohms ...

So i just ran each sub to a channel str8 to get 4 ohms... When i ran one sub to the amp i bridged the amp by running the sub to a positive on one channel and a negative to the other channel (it tells u which negative/postivie to use)

Thats a pretty nice amplifier... should get the job done nicely.

As for the 10's being quicker, thats probably a little bit true as there is less surface area to move, but in all reality if you have enough power and the subs are sealed well in their box it should perform just as well regardless of its size.
